Description:

This vintage reproduction of John Speed’s celebrated early 17th-century map of the British Isles shows the nation as it was divided during the Anglo-Saxon Heptarchy. Originally published between 1610–1612, Speed’s maps are among the most important in English cartographic history. This later print has been hand-coloured to enhance its decorative appeal, with shields of arms and portraits of early rulers flanking the map. The work is presented in a glazed wooden frame and remains in good overall condition, making it both a decorative piece and a reference to one of Britain’s most influential mapmakers.
